The former Indian cricketer, Deep Dasgupta, believes that Suresh Raina will return to the camp of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for getting featured in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020). He believes that Raina will be missing the initial few matches but will take part in the rest of them.
He also added that Raina’s replacement seems impossible and the Yellow Army wouldn’t be choosing anyone in his place.
Suresh Raina will be back to CSK camp after a few matches: Former Indian cricketer
“I have a feeling that Suresh Raina will be back playing the IPL. He might miss out on the first few games because of the quarantine rules and all but I have a feeling that Suresh will be back,” Dasgupta told ESPNCricinfo. “I won’t be surprised if they don’t pick a replacement for Suresh.”
“I’ve been training even while quarantining here. You never know you might see me in the camp there again,” Raina had recently said.
His own views lye with Jalaj Saxena who can be fitted well in Raina and Harbhajan’s place. Being an all-rounder, he would not let CSK feel the need for any other replacement if made.
“As far as the replacement is concerned, there aren’t too many options. But I think Jalaj Saxena deserves a place, he’s a good enough all-rounder. I think they might look at him, he’s a very good option for Bhajji’s replacement,” Dasgupta added.
It is to be noted that the 51 match league is all set to be commenced by 19th September. With the last match to be played on 3rd November, the first match is all set to be played between Chennai Super Kings (CSK), and Mumbai Indians (MI).
