Kane Williamson was not the part of the Sun Risers Hyderabad (SRH) in their first two matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) and his absence was questionable as the side lost both of their games. However, they decided to induce him in the third game played against the Delhi Capitals (DC), and luckily, the side has clinched their maiden win of the season.
Earlier, Williamson captained the team in 2018 and 2019 and also notched the trophy for the team back in 2018. Despite the fact, he refrained and the captaincy, for this season, has been transferred to Jonny Bairstow. SRH, who played their first game against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), lost as their batting and bowling collapsed.
A few days later when they faced the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), they faced a humiliating defeat once again. However, in the third match played today at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, they have been impressive with the bat and the ball.
SRH become the lucky charms on the return of Kane Williamson
Williamson, on his return, contributed 41 of 26. Whereas, the top-orders’ Bairstow and Warner made 43 (58) and 45 (33) respectively.
Now, the SRH are scheduled to play their fourth match of the ongoing season against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on 2nd October at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The combat will be strong as Williamson is in his phase and CSK, after losing the last two matches, will be looking forward to a must-win.
