After thirteen personnel being contracted with the virus are under isolation, the two names from the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are also COVID-19 positive. Other than that, earlier, as many as ten people of CSK were tested positive including Suresh Raina and one of the officials.
Considering the situation, a social activist, Ravi Nair, has urged BCCI to cancel the tournament (IPL 2020). He has written a letter officially in which he has stated that he feel ashamed after BCCI is holding IPL at any cost with the world not yet free of the Coronavirus.
With the rising cases in UAE, he believes the tournament should be scrapped up. Adding the examples of cancelation of the mega-event, T20 World Cup, he says that it was cancel considering a similar reason and IPL 2020 shall be moved to a better time.

“As a cricket lover, I feel ashamed that our Indian government and the Indian cricket board feel that the UAE is fit to play the IPL this season. This in spite of 68000 cases and 490 cases everyday in UAE,” Nair has stated, as quoted by bdcrictime.
“That, this approval was given without keeping the safety and well-being of the Indian players and hence in violation of Rights and Constitutional guarantees to every citizen of India, including the players featured in the IPL-13th Edition”, the notice further said.
“That, by merely shifting the venue we are not conclusively keeping our valuable citizens/cricketers away from exposing to the deadly contagion COVID-19”,
It is shocking to see the thirteen members of the single franchise, (CSK), being COVID-19 positive. With the utmost security concerns, it might be unable for the franchise to play the inaugural matches or they might be unavailable for the entire season after being badly hit by the virus.
