Aakash Chopra, the former Indian cricketer, has blasted his words saying Pakistan, on touring India, either for the World Cup 2021 or for the World Cup 2023, won’t face any security issues and high-security will be granted to them.
Security will not be an issue for Pakistan: Aakash Chopra
“Security will not be an issue for Pakistan whenever they come to India for the T20 World Cup, that is guaranteed. Security assurance will be provided to them” Aakash Chopra said on Sawera Pasha’s Youtube show Cricast.
Aakash believes as there is no confirmation regarding the World Cups, the security issues can be taken under consideration.
“Let there be some confirmation on the T20 World Cup first then all these concerns of safety and security can be addressed,” Aakash Chopra said.“There is still a lot of time for the tournament to happen but whenever Pakistan comes to India, definitely assurance will be given. Security will be provided and Pakistan team will be safe in India,” he added.
Earlier, Wasim Khan, the CEO of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) asked the International Cricket Council (ICC) to guarantee them for visas and tickets to play upcoming ICC events in India.
India is to hold ICC World Cup 2021 and 2023 hence, Wasim concerns the political relations of both countries and wants a guarantee if Men in Green can visit there for playing.
PCB’s Wasim Khan asks ICC to guarantee Pakistani visas for playing ICC events at India
“We are also looking at the fact that the ICC World Cups are to be hosted in India in 2021 and 2023 and we have already asked the ICC to give us written assurances from BCCI that we will not face any problems getting visas and clearance to play in India,” Wasim said.
“That is why we have asked for the advance assurances. But eventually, it is an ICC event and it is their responsibility to ensure we as a full member and signatory of the participant’s agreement go and play in these ICC events.”
Consequently, The Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) had asked PCB to guarantee if they won’t make any terror attack when they come to India for the World Cups 2021 and 2023.
“Can the PCB give assurance in writing that the Pakistan government would ensure that no illegal incursions into India take place from the Pakistani side or that there’s no violation of the cease-fire or that no act of terror takes place on Indian soil originating in Pakistan or that no repeat of Pulwama type incident takes place?” the official was quoted as saying in Cricket Next.
