The cricketing activities have badly flopped as the Coronavirus has snatched the rights from the respective country boards. Amidst all these, all the cricketing scenarios, either tournaments or series, are badly suffering and postponement and shifting is the only option remaining for the cricketing bodies.

Earlier, as there were no statements made over the Asia Cup organizing by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), the tournament seemed probable to be postponed. Recently, ACC has hold its first meeting a long time after or during the lockdown. Sourav Ganguly, chief of BCCI, also was part of the meeting.

It has been decided that the final take will be taken on the Asia Cup in the next meeting. Highlighting the importance of holding the mega-event, the deferred decision was discussed on which highlighted the venues amidst the Coronavirus pandemic in the due course following the medical guidelines.

“In particular, the board emphasized the importance of holding the Asia Cup 2020. In light of the impact and consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic, possible venue options for the Asia Cup 2020 were discussed and it was decided to take the final decision in due course,” the ACC update stated.

“The Board was also apprised of the status and progress of the ACC’s involvement with the Asian Games 2022 in Hangzhou, China. The Board noted with satisfaction the ongoing activities and initiatives of the ACC. The meeting was chaired by the ACC President Nazmul Hassan. Attending for the first time was the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Sourav Ganguly,” ACC said in their press release.
