The former Indian cricketer, VVX Laxman, has lauded the former Pakistani bowler, Shoaib Akhtar with praise.
Laxman has entitled Akhtar with the quickest bowler who was always up for the fight. The former cricketer disclosed it as difficult to play against Pakistan borne quickest bowler in the world.
Laxman also mentioned Brett Lee who was the fast bowler after Shoaib Akhtar. Akhtar, in the world of cricket, is known as the aggressive fastest bowler who pardons no one. The veteran grabbed 247, 178, and 19 wickets respectively in ODI, Test, and T20.
Laxman: Shoaib Akhtar was probably the quickest bowler, he was always up to the fight
“It has to be someone like Shoaib Akhtar. Because he was probably the quickest bowler in world cricket at that time along with Brett Lee. Playing against him was always going to be challenging and he always was up to the fight,” Laxman was quoted as saying in Star Sports’ show Cricket Connected.
Another controversial Indian cricket player, Gautam Gambhir, has recently praised Saeed Ajmal, the former Pakistani leg-spinner. Gautam has termed Saeed as the toughest bowler he ever faced.
“One battle which I thoroughly enjoyed was against Saeed Ajmal. Because Ajmal was probably one of the toughest off-spinners I have faced, especially under lights as we couldn’t pick his Doosra. And the speed with which he used to bowl at, he was very very lethal,” the combative leftie confessed.
Saeed was an influential leg-spinner who several times created the match-winning situations with his bowling tactics. He has an influential and sound career in all three formats so far with 184 ODI wickets, 178 Tests, and 85 T20 wickets.
