The former cricket player of India, Aakash Chopra, believes that the wonderful wicket-keeping batting sensation, KL Rahul, will soon be the skipper of the Men in Blue after Virat Kohli.
He mentioned as Rohit Sharma and Kohli are on their ways to be aged, it will be the time for the captaincy to witness Rahul as the leader. Chopra has spotted the way of playing along with leadership styles in the lad.
KL Rahul next in line for being India’s skipper: Aakash Chopra
“I have hope that his captaincy will be good. Actually, we will get an idea of his captaincy, how he runs the game, what strategies he uses. If we see Kohli and Rohit Sharma, they are of the same age bracket and at one time you may feel that they are not captained material anymore,” Chopra said, replying to a fan’s question on his Facebook page.
Aakash has mentioned that the way Kohli surpassed Dhoni, Rahul’s time is near and he is next in the line to lead Team India’s cricket.
“As they say, a time comes when you have to pass on the baton as MS Dhoni did to Kohli and Kohli will also have to do to someone at some point. When he does that, it is possible that Rahul will be next in line,” he stated.
Rahul, who is ready to captain Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) for the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) will prove his abilities via his temperament linking with the captaincy tactics.
“So, this IPL will show us how KL Rahul will be like a captain but I feel, the manner in which I have seen him play and his temperament, I feel he will be a good captain,” Chopra added.
