The International Cricket Council (ICC) has finally taken a decision to call off the deferring ICC T20 World Cup 2020 indefinitely.

The decision was put off for a longer duration that also teased the scheduling of other boards for their leagues and series. An official of ICC revealed that the decision has finally be taken and it is the chance for other boards to hold their bilateral series and domestic structure.

The tournament was to go ahead by 18th October. Now, it can not be said right now if it will be either in 2021 or 2023. However, the global cricketing body has not revealed if the 2021 edition will be played in India and the 2023 edition in Australia.

“The decision gives us the best possible opportunity of delivering two safe and successful T20 World Cups,” said International Cricket Council (ICC) chief executive Manu Sawhney.

“Our members now have the clarity they need around event windows to enable them to reschedule lost bilateral and domestic cricket.”

However, IPL, which was to be commenced by 29th March, has got a vast window of September-November. At first, cancelation of Asia Cup gave them a vast window, then now, the World Cup has given them the full authority to commence the league in full swing.
