The Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to be started by 19th September and the fans are waiting eagerly to witness the matches. The fate of the league was not sure as the COVID-19 got dominant over everything. The sports scenarios were badly hit across the globe. The situation cannot go ahead like this hence, the cricket boards, following health measures, are slowly beginning the cricketing activities.

Many countries, West Indies, England, Pakistan, and Australia have kicked off international cricket and also, the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) has been winded up lately. IPL is also to hit the floors with the first match between four times IPL winners, Mumbai Indians (MI), and three times winners, Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Gautam Gambhir, the skipper of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) believes that the Mumbai Indians will get dominant over Chennai Super Kings in the first match. He has said it because CSK have been deprived of their two senior players; Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh.

“I am very excited to see how Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah will be bowling together with the new ball. Because Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult are world-class bowlers and both of them are wicket-taking options in T20 cricket. A left-arm seamer who brings the ball in for right-handers and Jasprit Bumrah who is unorthodox,” Gautam Gambhir said while speaking in the latest episode of Star Sports Cricket Connected.

“It will be a huge challenge for Chennai Super Kings as they don’t have Suresh Raina at No.3, plus Shane Watson does not play much international cricket and has not played cricket for a long time, so how he plays against Bumrah and Trent Boult. We will also have to see with whom he would be opening the batting.

“I feel the Mumbai Indians have the upper hand if you see the balance and depth of the squad. They have also added Trent Boult to their squad, who will give them a very good option,” he added.
