Harbhajan Singh, who has departed for India in the midway of the Indian Premier League (IPL) practising sessions, has left his place vacant but it will be hard for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to look for his replacement.
The super spinner was supposed to be the wicket-taking asset of his camp and as after Raina, he has left, CSK seems to be in huge trouble.
The former Indian cricketer, Irfan Pathan, who has three-four spinners in his head and who might also be CSK’s choice but none of them would fulfil Harbhajan’s place.
It is difficult to find the replacement for Harbhajan Singh: says Irfan Pathan
“I have hope and I personally also want that Suresh Raina comes back, there is a chance for that,” Irfan was quoted as saying on Star Sports.
“But getting a replacement for Harbhajan Singh will be very difficult. It won’t be easy to find a quality off-spinner like him in domestic cricket. They are trying as well. I have got some information as well that the CSK team and management are considering the names of 3-4 off-spinners but the void created by Harbhajan Singh’s absence is very difficult to be filled,” he stated.
However, the cash-rich league is all set to be commenced by 19th September. The total of 51 matches are to take place till 3rd November with the first match to be played between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Sheikh Zayed Stadium.
