After thirteenth COVID-19 positive cases were already witnessed in a single camp, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the fielding coach of the Rajhastan Royals (RR) caught the COVID-19 positive test. After these two franchises have bee evaluated with a total of fourteen cases, Delhi Capitals (DC) have become the third franchise to have a COVID-19 positive case in their camp.

Upon being testing, it has been found out that the assistant physiotherapist is highly at risk for the deadly disease. He has been sent under isolation straightaway without waiting for a moment to avoid further spread. However, the players still have not met with him and he was still to join the army.

 “He was yet to meet with, and had not been in contact with any players or staff of the franchise,” the statement said.

An official of the Delhi Capitals disclosed that he will have to be COVID-19 negative for the next two tests to be eligible for featuring in the IPL 2020 ahead.

“He was isolated immediately, and is currently at the IPL Isolation Facility in Dubai for the next 14 days, at the end of which he will have to produce two negative reports for him to be able to join the Delhi Capitals squad. The franchise’s medical team is in constant touch with him, and wishes him a speedy recovery,” the franchise further said.

It is to be noted that the much-awaited league is a superset to be kicked off from 19th September and will last till 3rd November. A total of 51 matches will be staged in the UAE venues; Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah organizing 24, 20, and 12 matches respectively.
