Amidst the Coronavirus pandemic, the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 is to face disruptions in its pre-schedule. To decide its fate, a meeting was organized on 28th May as a consequence of which, the ICC officials have decided to take any decision regarding the mega-event in the next meeting. The next meeting is scheduled for 10th June where the decision will be taken probably.
Opined, canceling might be an option as the mega-event cannot go ahead without the chants of fans behind closed doors and it can’t be truncated as well.
When the only option remaining for ICC would be canceling the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 and shifting it to another window of either 2021 or 2022, BCCI might get an open window of October-November to place their cash-rich T20 league, IPL.
However, the smaller boards that get their payment from ICC, are in no support of postponing the T20 World Cup as it might affect their economies. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also do not support if ICC will cancel the mega tournament.

Earlier, an official from PCB clearly stated that they won’t stand with ICC if canceling is on the agenda and ICC shall not be rushed and shall think as they have got much time.
“We are in May and there is still time. The ICC members should wait and see where this Coronavirus pandemic goes. A decision on staging the event can be taken even after say two months,” PCB official said earlier.
“There is no cricket being played right now but in two months’ time we will know what is the position because West Indies and Pakistan are to play in England if things go according to plan,” he added.
