The CEO of Cricket Australia, Kevin Roberts, recently has some sayings regarding Australia’s seasonal and international schedule which are a piece of good news for the world of cricket as cricket in Australia can be commenced soon.
The ease in the situation has triggered the hopes for India test series against Australia as well. Earlier, amidst the Coronavirus outbreak, cricketing activities were halted. Some were delayed indefinitely and others were called-off. As a consequence of having no cricket for months, the boards are deciding to resume with the training camps and series behind closed doors.
India tour of Australia was confirmed as both teams are to play four test matches. Venues were also decided among which, Perth got no right to host test matches. Adelaide, Sydney, Gabba, and Melbourne are to host four tests.
However, the CEO of CA has revealed that it might be difficult to hold four tests at four venues if the situation doesn’t ease. He further added that the authorities might decide to hold tests at only one or two venues.
Coronavirus might force us to change the schedule for India’s Test series: Cricket Australia
“That (schedule) assumes that state borders are open to domestic travel. It may be that circumstances dictate that when the time comes maybe we can only use one or two venues, we really don’t know any of that yet,” he told reporters as quoted by Cricket.com.au on Friday.
“There is a lot of variables based on whether we have four venues in four states or as little as one venue in one state. There are endless scenarios and possibilities.”
