Babar Azam, the newly appointed T20 skipper with the batting excellency of Pakistan, has clearly said that people, instead of comparing him to India’s full-time skipper, Virat Kohli, shall compare him to the Pakistani cricketing legends.
People are often noticed comparing Pakistan’s master of cover drives and India’s captain, Kohli. The players have been questioned several times upon the mutuality, however, this time, Babar said he will like it more and will be proud of his achievements.
It has been years since Kohli joint cricket and has got wonderful impressive stats. However, Babar, a talented lad, is just a few years old in cricket and if one notices the initial years of the cricketing career of both players, Babar is amazingly ahead and he still has got years to make more.
It is to be noted that Babar’s stats in T20 cricket are far above Kholi and he is the only batsman to occur in the Top 10 ICC rankings for the batsmen across all formats. Whereas, Kholi has done it so far only in two formats.
Babar Azam wants people to compare him with Pakistani legends rather than Virat Kohli
The Pakistani batsman gave the examples of Javed Miandad, Younis Khan, and Inzamam ul Haq, and thinks that he shall be compared to his own national heroes.
“If you want to compare me with someone, I would like to be compared to Pakistan’s players, instead of Virat Kohli. We have had legends like Javed Miandad, Younis Khan, Inzamam-ul-Haq. If you compare me to these legends, I will like it more and feel proud of my accomplishments,” Azam told reporters in a teleconference.
